Project reference ↗

Gestalt aimed to give application teams a common platform for deploying containers and functions while administrators managed provider integrations, identity and policy. It combined several services behind that application-management layer instead of asking each team to work directly with every underlying system. This entry is useful for understanding an inherited Gestalt installation and its dependencies. A current supported Kubernetes release path has not been established, so the old installer is not a new-deployment recommendation.

Deployment and operating notes

The recorded gestalt-k8s-install repository announces that the installer has moved. GalacticFog/gestalt-kubernetes-installer documents a multi-service platform with PostgreSQL, portal and gateway dependencies and cluster-admin installation requirements. This establishes the historical continuation, not a current support commitment or evidence that those manifests are safe for a new Kubernetes cluster.

For a running platform, inventory every Gestalt component and image, provider integration, organization and policy object, identity service, database and gateway configuration. Preserve platform metadata and application definitions before testing any installer update. Inspect generated resources and cluster-wide permissions in an isolated cluster rather than executing the installer against an existing environment. A replacement platform must account for applications using Gestalt’s APIs, functions or provider abstractions; plain Kubernetes Deployments may cover only part of the behavior. Ask for a supported release and migration path, or plan a staged extraction of workloads with explicit policy and identity mapping. No direct modern successor was proved by this review.

Historical upstream link check · 2026-10-09

The recorded upstream address responded successfully (HTTP 200) on 2026-10-09. GitHub does not mark GalacticFog/gestalt-k8s-install archived or disabled; this does not establish active maintenance, support or compatibility. Link availability does not certify the historical installation instructions or current security support.

The original record

Historical Kubedex content

Preserved for context. Commands, versions, prices and results below reflect the original research.

Gestalt Platform is an open source platform for building cloud-native enterprise applications. Gestalt is several things: a container-as-a-service (CaaS) abstraction layer, a serverless computing engine, and an enterprise integration framework with policy management and security capabilities.

Historical illustration unavailable.

Gestalt is implemented as a set of micro-services, that have been designed to work together at a fundamental level as a “future-proof” cloud-native application platform.
